Chanticleer 05/2009 : Zora and I drove up to Wayne, PA this morning (5/28/09) to visit the Chanticleer garden. Chanticleer was a private estate and the gardens were designed for the personal enjoyment of its owners, Christine and Adolph Rosengarten, Sr. Mr. Rosengarten was head of the pharmaceutical company Rosengarten and Sons. Their son Adolph, Jr., left the property to be enjoyed as a public garden. The garden opened to visitors in 1993. Chanticleer is about 35 minutes north of Wilmington near Bryn Mawr. I regret that I cannot identify most of the flora, although the fauna I believe need no introduction. Enjoy, and do visit if you have the opportunity. It is worth it.

Pawleys Island March 2009 : Zora and I had a quick visit to Pawleys Island in March on our way to a wedding in Hilton Head. The first page or so are images from Pawleys in the cool of March. The balance (following the Sea View Inn pix) were taken in Brookgreen Gardens nearby. Brookgreen is on the site of former rice plantations and is an amazing sculpture collection set in formal and informal gardens. Many other attractions on site also, including zoo, river trips, etc.

The rehearsal dinner fotos from 5 Jan were taken at the Piatti Locali, a very nice Italian restaurant in the Cherry Creek area of Denver. Mas des Graviers : The Mas is owned by a former colleague and friend, Jan Olaf Willums. We have taken family and friends there, and enjoyed wonderful times there since the remodelling that Jan Olaf commissioned in the 1990s. It is located just to the north of the village of Pourrières, about 25 km east of Aix en Provence. The walls are covered largely by paintings done by his grandparents. The Mas is actually owned by a foundation created from their estate.

Lily Baptism Weekend : These fotos were all taken 13 to 14 May 2006 during the Mothers' Day weekend. Lily Beatrice Clark was baptized at Westminster Presbyterian Church with her Uncle John and friend, Anna Lo Scalzo, Troy's mother Janet, Aunt Anne and Cousin Christopher, and Sam and Hannalies Hepler in attendance. A wonderful weekend, only slightly marred by weather, but a great time nonetheless. Most of the pix were shot by Cousin Chris, with a few by Papparossi Nanu.

Pawleys Island 2005 : To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we rented a house at Pawleys Island, SC and invited our kids and granddaughter to join us. Although we had an uninvited guest, hurricane Ophelia, we still had a great time and never experienced any of the severe impacts of Ophelia.

Christmas Eve 2004 : On Christmas Eve, Helen and Troy and Amelia portrayed the Holy Family in our church's annual pageant and carol-fest. We had hoped that their dog Gabe could also get the part of the angel Gabriel (for whom he is named), but alas, it was a speaking part. All were outstanding, including Troy's singing of the 3rd verse of Silent Night to the rapt attention of "Mary" and "Jesus."
